In a recent report, TyC Sports claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are keeping a keen eye on Olympique Marseille keeper Geronimo Rulli ahead of a potential move for him this summer. It has been mentioned that Spurs are eyeing a move to secure the services of the Argentine goalie in this summer transfer window.

Rulli’s Decent Campaign In Ligue 1

Rulli enjoyed a good run of form at the French club last season as he produced a series of impressive displays for them in Ligue 1. The 34-year-old conceded 52 goals and secured nine clean sheets in 39 appearances for Marseille in the previous campaign across all fronts.

The Argentine talent is currently among the most experienced keepers in Ligue 1. Hence, Spurs would do well to lure him to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this off-season.

His current contract at the French club will run out at the end of next season, which could open the door for Tottenham to sign him on the cheap later this year.

Should Tottenham Hotspur Boss Roberto De Zerbi Snap Rulli Up This Summer?

Rulli is a good handler of the ball and can use his quick reflexes to make some decent saves at the back for his team. He doesn’t mind clearing his lines when being chased down the opposition attackers and is a good passer as well from the back.

Standing at 1.89m, the Argentine talent can use his strong frame to dominate his penalty area. However, only time will tell whether he can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League if Spurs manage to bring him on board in this transfer window.

Rulli will bring more quality and depth to Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi’s defence. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next season.

At 34, Rulli is past his prime but could still serve as a useful player in the North London club’s squad. Therefore, De Zerbi would be wise to go all out to snap him up later this year. However, De Zerbi has to be patient with his progress before he can get the best out of the experienced keeper at Tottenham.
