In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Tottenham Hotspur full-back Pedro Porro is on the radar of Barcelona this summer. It has been mentioned that the Catalan club are showing interest in recruiting the Spanish defender from the North London outfit this off-season.

Porro’s Impressive Form In English Football

Pedro has enjoyed an up-and-down season at Tottenham but has managed to put in a run of impressive performances on the right side of their defence. The 26-year-old has registered two goals and earned six assists in 44 matches for Spurs in this campaign across all competitions.

The Spanish talent is currently among the most consistent full-backs in the Premier League. Therefore, it is no surprise that he is gathering interest from a top club like Barcelona ahead of this summer transfer window.

His current contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will expire in the summer of 2028. Hence, Spurs are under no immediate pressure to cash in on him later this year.

Should Tottenham Hotspur Boss Robert De Zerbi Cash In On Porro?

Porro is a good tackler of the ball and can scan the danger well to secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind clearing his lines when required and is a decent crosser of the ball from the right flank.

The Spanish sensation can make a few clever runs on the right flank and has got the vision to engineer some inviting chances for his teammates to find the back of the net. Porro has got a wealth of experience in the Premier League. He is primarily a right-back but can also fill in as a right-sided wide player if told to do so by his manager.

At the moment, Porro remains an important member of Spurs head coach Robert De Zerbi’s first XI. However, he has struggled to help the North London club find consistency in the Premier League this season.

Still, Tottenham would be wise not to cash in on him this summer. At 26, Porro has his best years ahead of him and could have a better market value in the future. With all things considered, De Zerbi should consider keeping hold of the Portuguese talent beyond the end of this campaign.
