Tottenham’s season has been defined by disruption. Igor Tudor has stepped into a dressing room where absence has become routine, and the Spurs injury latest now shapes every tactical conversation ahead of Sunday’s north London derby.

The scale of the problem is stark. As many as 11 first team players have been unavailable, Cristian Romero remains suspended for three matches, and Wilson Odobert has suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament. Yet amid that attrition, there is a sliver of encouragement. Tudor could welcome back crucial figures for Arsenal’s visit.
Pedro Porro has been sidelined since sustaining a hamstring injury in the 2-2 draw at Burnley last month. His absence has deprived Spurs of width and delivery from the right, attributes essential in high intensity fixtures.

The right back has been pushing to return in time for Arsenal. At the end of January, former head coach Thomas Frank offered guarded optimism. He said: “That could be a dream scenario, and it just could happen. We will know a little bit more when we get closer, but it’s in that bracket.”
That bracket now carries renewed significance. If Porro is fit, he restores balance to a side that has often appeared stretched in transition.
Richarlison presents a similar narrative. Initially ruled out for up to seven weeks after a hamstring injury sustained in the FA Cup win against Aston Villa on January 10, his potential return has gathered pace. Frank indicated last month that the Brazilian could be available for Arsenal.

Richarlison’s numbers underline his importance. Seven goals in 21 Premier League matches make him Spurs’ top scorer this season. In a squad depleted by injury, that contribution cannot be overstated. Tudor will provide an update at his pre match press conference, but the prospect of Richarlison returning injects urgency into Arsenal’s preparations.
Potential return date for both: February 22 vs Arsenal
Kevin Danso’s injury arrived at the wrong moment. The Austrian defender snapped the ligament in his big toe during the 2-0 Champions League win over Eintracht Frankfurt on January 28. With Romero suspended, depth at centre back has become fragile.

Danso has since missed matches against Manchester City, Manchester United and Newcastle. Frank, speaking before the Newcastle game, offered clarity.
“He met the consultant. It’s going forward, but it’s still weeks before he’s available.”
That phrasing suggests steady progress without acceleration. Late February or early March appears realistic. Spurs’ defensive structure, already under strain, must endure a little longer.
Destiny Udogie has again been struck by a hamstring problem. Injured in the 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford on February 7, he was ruled out for four to five weeks.
“Unfortunately, Destiny has a hamstring injury and will be out for the next four to five weeks,” said Frank before his departure.

Mid March is the current target. Tudor’s options at full back remain limited.
Mohammed Kudus has been absent since the 1-1 draw with Sunderland on January 4. Initially ruled out until after the March international break, he travelled to Amsterdam to consult a trusted specialist from his Ajax days. Reports suggest he is targeting a return to full training after the break, with April a realistic window.

Lucas Bergvall faces a prolonged spell out following ankle surgery sustained in the 2-0 Champions League victory over Borussia Dortmund on January 20. Spurs have not provided a definitive timeframe, yet April or May is expected.

Odobert’s injury casts a longer shadow. Spurs confirmed surgery following his serious knee issue against Newcastle. The club stated: “Wilson will see a specialist next week before undergoing surgery, and will then commence his rehabilitation with our medical staff. We’re all behind you, Wilson.” His return is not anticipated until late 2026.

Dejan Kulusevski’s patella problem has lingered since the end of last season. Swedish reports suggested he is “nowhere near stepping out” on the pitch. Frank acknowledged uncertainty.
“It’s a complicated injury where it’s important to make sure there’s no pain in the knee. That’s why he got an injection and it hopefully will help. So in three to four weeks’ time, he’ll be on the grass pain-free.”
Rodrigo Bentancur, ruled out for three months after hamstring surgery in mid January, is unlikely to feature again this season. Ben Davies, who suffered a broken ankle in the 2-1 defeat to West Ham, faces an uncertain future with his contract expiring. James Maddison, sidelined since pre season with a serious knee injury, is not expected back until summer 2026.
The Spurs injury latest illustrates a campaign repeatedly interrupted. Yet Tudor’s tenure begins with possibility. If Porro and Richarlison return against Arsenal, the derby acquires a sharper edge. Spurs may still be depleted, but momentum in football often shifts on who walks back through the tunnel first.
