According to Transfer Market Web, Tottenham are monitoring Ebrima Darboe. The youngster is considered as a future prospect by Roma, but he is attracting significant interest from clubs across Europe, as his current contract in Rome expires in 2023. Tottenham are among the clubs interested in the services of the midfielder, although they are set to face stiff competition from Fulham.
Ebrima Darboe is a native of the river-based country of The Gambia. He joined AS Roma academy as a refugee before moving up the ranks and eventually gaining promotion to the senior team earlier in the summer.
A defensive midfielder by trade, Darboe even made five appearances in Serie A last season. Although he is yet to establish himself as a first-team regular for the Giallorossi, the club certainly considers him as a future asset.
After all, the 20-year-old has made quite an impression with his work ethic in the middle of the park. Standing at 1.79m, Darboe might not be one of the tallest players on the pitch, but he can offer tenacity and is often quite excellent when it comes to orchestrating the game.
Despite being a number six, the Gambian can operate as a number eight as well, which is indicative of his versatility in midfield. There are certain aspects where the youngster clearly needs to improve himself, but at the age of just 20, he is certainly one for the future.

Tottenham Hotspur are currently in dire need of reinforcements in the midfield department, especially with Harry Winks seemingly falling out of favour under Nuno Espirito Santo while Giovani Lo Celso and Dele Alli have either struggled with form or injuries.
Ebrima Darboe, who is naturally a number six, could be an ideal alternative for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Oliver Skipp, should he join the club in the upcoming January transfer window. Although he is not the most intimidating midfielders out there, his arrival could be a step in the right direction, as the club looks to a blueprint for the future.
The Gambian does lack experience at the highest level of football, which could be a risk. However, he offers exceptional skill and quality while having the potential of becoming an asset for the club in the coming years.
Darboe could indeed build a strong partnership alongside the likes of Hojbjerg and Pape Sarr, who is due to return to the club after the end of the season. The trio offers excellent variety to the table, and with Darboe being just 20, he has the potential to become a smart long-term investment for the Lilywhites.
