Tottenham Hotspur are preparing a move for Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen, with CaughtOffside reporting Spurs are ready to offer £50m to £55m and the club from Türkiye seeking about £65m. Spurs are said to have sporting approval to open formal talks, with personal terms not expected to be an issue and the Nigerian open to Roberto De Zerbi’s project.

Osimhen has been described by his national team head coach Eric Chelle as the best striker in the world.

The north London club have already spent over £230m this window, adding Sandro Tonali, Matheus Fernandes and Jan Paul van Hecke, yet they still want extra attacking punch.

Uncertainty around Richarlison’s future underpins the push. De Zerbi says he does not know whether the Brazilian will stay, noting mixed signals and stressing his admiration for the player’s attitude.

He also highlighted Richarlison’s 12 goals last season and his daily application, and said replacing him would be difficult if he departs.

Tottenham are coming off back-to-back 17th-place finishes, having avoided relegation on the final day last season.
