L’Équipe reports that Tottenham Hotspur have opened discussions with Monaco over Folarin Balogun, who is valued at around €60m.

The 25-year-old has just completed his third season in the Principality after joining from Arsenal in 2023.

The US international has been linked with a summer move, with Spanish and English clubs, including Newcastle United, credited with interest. He scored 19 goals in 45 appearances last season.

Balogun made headlines at the 2026 FIFA World Cup when his red card suspension was lifted in time for the Round of 16 defeat to Belgium.

He had been sent off in the Round of 32, but the decision was overturned after a phone call from US President Donald Trump pleading his case, though FIFA said the call did not influence the outcome.
