Tottenham joined the social media fun by posting a side-by-side of their celebration and Vasco's, engaging with fans on the club's official account.

According to Globo.com, the comparison echoed a Champions League moment a day earlier. Tottenham beat Slavia Prague 3-0, and Mohamed Kudus scored their second before posing with Richarlison and Djed Spence.

At the Maracanã, Rayan made it 1-1 in a 2-1 victory over Fluminense, then sat on a seat by the byline to pose with Robert Renan and Cauan Barros.

Richarlison has repeatedly said he supports Vasco, and that he sometimes stays up late in England to watch their matches.

Bruno Guimarães of Newcastle and Brazil commented on Robert Renan's post after the defender shared the celebration inspired by Tottenham's players.

His son also showed affection for Vasco, as his wife Ana Lídia Martins shared a video of the child singing Rayan's song.
