Tottenham need a strong Christmas and New Year to drag themselves up the Premier League table and will hope to get back to winning ways on Sunday December 28 when they travel across London to face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Spurs have won just one of their last eight Premier League matches and are in desperate need of a lift after red cards for Xavi Simons and Cristian Romero contributed to a 2-1 home defeat to Liverpool on Saturday.

However, they may take hope from the fact Palace are facing their fourth game in ten days and could feel the effects of an EFL Cup quarter-final clash against Arsenal.

The game kicks off at 4.30pm and will be televised live on Sky Sports Premier League and Main Event.

Simons and Romero being suspended provides another headache for Tottenham boss Thomas Frank as he aims to get Spurs back on the road to recovery.

Replacements should be straightforward as Kevin Danso is likely to come in for Romero to partner Micky van de Ven at the heart of the defence, while a reshuffle up front should enable Richarlison to start following his goal as a substitute in the defeat to Liverpool.

Pape Sarr and the out-of-favour Yves Bissouma are both at the Africa Cup of Nations, while Destiny Udogie has a hamstring problem and James Maddison is out long-term with a knee injury.

Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski are also sidelined.

Fans finding little to smile about in N17

Ending their 17-year wait for a trophy by beating Manchester United in May’s Europa League final will mean 2025 will be a memorable year for Tottenham supporters, but there has been precious little else to smile about for a team who could struggle to gain a top-half finish in the Premier League again this season.

The pressure is on manager Frank after he was appointed to replace Ange Postecoglou, the man who led Spurs to their European triumph, and there have been precious few signs that the north London outfit have made significant steps forward under the former Brentford boss.

Their home form has been a primary concern with just four N17 victories having been gained during the calendar year and with Spurs struggling to create opportunities, it is little wonder that the fans are making their frustrations known.

They also have to pick themselves up from the 3-0 defeat they suffered at Nottingham Forest in their last away game, which means a 2-0 success over Frank’s former club on December 6 has been the only victory they have earned in their last eight league games.

Pedestrian football and poor results mean the Dane is earning few fans at Tottenham and a big month beckons for the manager as the supporters look to him to turn things around and have his team challenging for more honours.
