Spurs need fast improvements to climb up League Phase standings

Tottenham must shake off a miserable derby defeat quickly as Copenhagen visit in the Champions League.

A meek 1-0 home loss to rivals Chelsea at the weekend saw Spurs muster a record-low xG and saw the team booed off at both half-time and full-time.

Manager Thomas Frank has acknowledged his and his team’s failings in attack which have seen them scrape one win and two draws so far, and more dropped points could spell the end of their hopes of finishing in the top eight.

Copenhagen - winless after three games - may not have the profile of a European elite, but will pose a tricky test given their experience at this level.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Tottenham vs Copenhagen is scheduled for an 8pm GMT kick-off on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

Tottenham vs Copenhagen team news

Tottenham's injury woes eased over the weekend, with Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie coming off the bench against Chelsea, but not before Lucas Bergvall added to concerns after suffering a concussion inside five minutes.

Bergvall is now expected to miss this European game and the visit of Manchester United at the weekend due to concussion protocols, meaning Xavi Simons will get yet another chance to impress.

Wilson Odobert and Brennan Johnson will be battling for the left-wing spot, while Richarlison could get the nod up front with Mathys Tel ineligible and Randal Kolo Muani starting the last two games.

Copenhagen are sweating on the fitness of left-back Marcos Lopez, after being taken off during the 1-1 draw with Midtjylland at the weekend. Gabriel Pereira missed that game through illness and remains a doubt.

Tottenham vs Copenhagen prediction

Tottenham have little to worry about in defence, especially with the return of Cristian Romero, but simply must start giving opposition back lines something to think about.

On paper, the visit of the relative European minnows could prove a welcome tonic as they average two goals conceded per game, and shipped four at home to Borussia Dortmund last time out. Spurs can have little excuses and should need few come full-time.
