Mudryk could be facing an extended spell on the sidelines with an ankle injury sustained in training

Tottenham forward Mykhailo Mudryk could be facing up to two months out with an ankle injury he sustained in training.

Mudryk, a loan arrival from Chelsea on transfer Deadline Day last week, made his Spurs debut as a second half substitute in the goalless draw away at Nottingham Forest at the weekend.

The 25-year-old would have been hopeful of some more minutes against Everton on Saturday, but Standard Sport understands he will play no part in the fixture at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

In fact, Mudryk is expected to be sidelined until after the international break with the aforementioned ankle injury.

There are fears the winger could miss between six to eight weeks of action, which would represent a major blow for his hopes of hitting the ground running immediately.

If those reports are accurate, then the worst-case scenario would see Mudryk sidelined until the beginning of November at the earliest.

Spurs will be in action six times during this period, with the possibility of an additional fixture should they beat Liverpool and progress in the Carabao Cup.

Tottenham face Everton, Liverpool and Aston Villa before the international break, before returning to action against Manchester United at Old Trafford on October 10.

Fixtures against Coventry and Crystal Palace will see out the month of October for Spurs, a London derby away at Chelsea is sandwiched between but Murdyk cannot feature against his parent club as per Premier League rules.

Mudryk, if ruled out for eight weeks - would miss six matches - potentially seven - including big games against Liverpool, Villa and Man United.

The best case-scenario would be that Roberto De Zerbi has Mudryk available for selection for the home game against Crystal Palace on October 31.
