Dominic Solanke is set to return from injury as Destiny Udogie pushes to start

Xavi Simons will hope to keep his place in the Tottenham side for Sunday's crucial Premier League showdown with Nottingham Forest.

The two sides are separated by just a point in the relegation battle, and with Spurs having three weeks between this fixture and their next match, away at Sunderland, it is crucial they produce a positive result to keep the recent upturn in form going.

Simons shone on Wednesday night against Atletico Madrid, scoring twice and creating chances.

That was his first start since the defeat to Fulham at the start of the month, and it could be enough to keep his place in the side.

Tudor opted for effectively a 4-4-2 shape against Atletico, one that produced Spurs' best performance of the season and must be tempted to stick with it.

Destiny Udogie returned off the bench from a hamstring injury and could start against Forest, while Micky van de Ven is available again after serving a Premier League suspension.

Joao Palhinha, Conor Gallagher and Lucas Bergvall are available again to bolster Tudor's midfield options.

Despite the trio being back, Archie Gray looks certain to keep his place after another superb display in midweek.

Richarlison missed the Atletico match due to suspension but is likely to come straight back into the starting lineup on Sunday.

Dominic Solanke did not train with his team-mates on Friday morning, but Tudor told reporters later in the day that he expects the striker to be available.

That means Mathys Tel could again start after a lively showing last time out.

Predicted Tottenham XI (4-4-2): Vicario; Spence, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Porro, Gray, Sarr, Simons; Richarlison, Tel

Injured: Davies, Kudus, Bentancur, Odobert, Bissouma, Maddison, Kulusevski
