Bookmakers have revised their predicted final Premier League table, shifting Leeds United’s projection after pivotal results for Nottingham Forest, Tottenham, West Ham and Crystal Palace. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the latest odds reflect a significant weekend swing.
Leeds beat Burnley 3-1 on Friday night to move nine points clear of the drop zone. That win left them nine ahead of third-bottom Tottenham, seven in front of fourth-bottom West Ham and four above fifth-bottom Forest, with all three holding a game in hand.
West Ham then lost 3-0 at Brentford on Saturday, leaving them seven adrift of Leeds with three matches remaining. A Hammers defeat against Arsenal on Sunday would make Leeds mathematically safe, and even a draw would realistically be enough given West Ham’s goal difference.
Palace were beaten at Bournemouth, dropping below Leeds on goal difference. Spurs responded by winning 2-1 at Aston Villa to climb out of the bottom three, while Forest won 3-1 at Chelsea to sit just one point behind Leeds.
Tottenham are now a point ahead of West Ham and six behind Leeds, who they host on Monday night.
After Forest’s victory in particular, bookmakers adjusted relegation odds and their predicted table, resulting in a change to Leeds’ expected finish.
