Inter have identified Tottenham Hotspur’s Guglielmo Vicario as their top priority to succeed Yannick Sommer, with plans for the goalkeeping position already taking shape ahead of next season.
According to Pasquale Guarro, the Nerazzurri hierarchy has decided not to renew Sommer’s expiring contract, leading them to search for a replacement with international experience. While Emiliano Dibu Martinez was briefly linked, Inter have dismissed those rumors, focusing instead on Vicario, a player they have admired since his time at Empoli.
The Italian international is keen on a return to Serie A and has been frequently spotted in Milan recently, fueling speculation about his future. His professionalism and character are highly regarded by Piero Ausilio and Dario Baccin, who believe he is the ideal profile to handle the pressure of the San Siro.
Negotiations with Tottenham are not expected to be straightforward, especially since the 29-year-old is under contract until 2028. However, this is a saga that is expected to heat up significantly in the coming months as Inter prepare to formalize their interest for the summer transfer window.
