Toulouse president Olivier Cloarec has addressed Dayann Methalie’s future amid Sunderland interest. The 20-year-old left back has become a leading target after Dennis Cirkin departed.

"There are discussions with Sunderland and interest from others club. Today, we are discussing with Sunderland but there is no agreement between the two clubs." He was speaking to RMC.

"We've been discussing with Sunderland for three or four weeks so Dayann's starting amount has been fixed for three weeks and a month."

"Dayann is one of the players who are very much in demand this summer, as well as others."

"They're not for sale but we know in football when you get to a certain amount you have to transition and then change your mind."

From Sunderland’s pre-season camp in the US, head coach Régis Le Bris declined to comment and said the club intend to work under the radar this summer.
