Toulouse struck first on 10 minutes, Dayann Methalie finishing from Yann Gboho's well-timed pass. Santiago Hidalgo had already gone close in the third minute, Methalie was cautioned on 44 minutes, and Hidalgo struck the post on 45+1.

Endrick kept Lyon in it, taking aim throughout, then delivered the corner for Corentin Tolisso's equaliser on 71 minutes, his eighth assist in Ligue 1, after being booked on 56 minutes for a tactical foul.

Toulouse replied on 78 minutes when Kamanzi, on since 60 minutes, finished after Hidalgo's determined work, Gboho having supplied a deft backheel in the Lyon box.

Iaremtchouk was booked for dissent on 70 minutes and mustered only a blocked effort against Nicolaisen on 75 minutes before making way for Nuamah on 83 minutes. Maitland-Niles was beaten down his flank for both goals and went off on 89 minutes, while Tyler Morton toiled and was outfoxed by Gboho in the move for the winner before being replaced on 83 minutes. Endrick almost levelled on 90+6.
