Manchester Manchester United keeper André Onana has sealed a loan switch to Trabzonspor that will keep him in Turkey for the rest of the 2025/26 campaign.

The deal was wrapped up just before the Turkish transfer deadline shuts on Friday, and comes after the Cameroon international was left out of United’s first three league matches this season.

His only appearance this season came in that shock Carabao Cup defeat to Grimsby Town.

The 29-year-old goalkeeper arrived at Old Trafford in the summer of 2023 from Inter Milan for just over £47m, brought in as David de Gea’s long-term successor. He went on to make 102 appearances, including starting in the 2024 FA Cup final win. But despite the big moments, his United spell has been dogged by erratic performances and some mistakes.

With Belgian keeper Senne Lammens signing from Royal Antwerp on deadline day for around £18m plus add-ons, Amorim will now turn to Lammens, along with Altay Bayind?r and veteran Tom Heaton, to cover the goalkeeping duties.
