Transfer Bid for Wirtz? Liverpool Expects an Offer from Bayern | OneFootball

The Florian Wirtz and FC Bayern saga is apparently making headlines again. After a move to Munich in the summer of 2025 fell through, the German national team player is now once again being linked to the record champions. This comes amid his ongoing difficult situation at Liverpool FC.

As reported by the English website Football Insider, the Reds are already preparing for the possibility of receiving inquiries about the 23-year-old. Several top European clubs are said to be interested, though FC Bayern is the only one specifically named.

According to the report, the Munich club continues to rate Wirtz very highly. Football Insider reports that officials at Anfield are expecting an offer from the German record champions. However, there are no concrete indications of negotiations or an imminent offer from Bayern as of yet.

Liverpool does not want to let Wirtz go

Regardless of the alleged interest from Munich, Liverpool’s stance currently appears clear. According to Football Insider, the top English club has no plans to let Wirtz go again as early as this winter. Any potential inquiries are reportedly being rebuffed.

Coach Andoni Iraola continues to view the German national team player as an important part of his squad. Despite his disappointing performance so far, there are apparently no concrete plans to end their partnership prematurely.

Liverpool signed Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen just this past summer 2025 for around 125 million euros. However, the attacking player has so far been unable to consistently live up to the enormous expectations placed on him in England. He continues to search for his top form this season as well.

As a result, speculation about his future has recently intensified significantly.

Rumors linking him to Bayern are gaining momentum again

TEAMtalk had already reported that Bayern is said to be closely monitoring Wirtz’s development at Liverpool. Now, Football Insider is following up with similar information.

Whether FC Bayern actually intends to make another move for Wirtz remains to be seen, however. Most recently, there had been conflicting reports from Germany suggesting that another bid from Munich is not currently on the table.

The new reports come exclusively from England and should therefore be classified as transfer speculation. The only thing that’s certain is this: Wirtz’s on-field situation at Liverpool is causing his name to circulate more heavily on the transfer market again—and, apparently, in connection with Bayern Munich once more.
