FC Bayern’s plans for the coming summer transfer window are in full swing. Despite the Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain, those responsible apparently see no reason for a major change in personnel

On Monday evening, the supervisory board of the German record champions met at the Allianz Arena, focusing primarily on the future direction of the Bayern squad

Even though the semi-final exit in the Premier League against PSG revealed some weaknesses – particularly in terms of squad depth – the management at Säbener Straße remains relatively relaxed

Supervisory board trusts the current squad

As reported by tz, Uli Hoeneß, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and the other members of the supervisory board see no compelling need for a major shake-up

Internally, the current Bayern squad is still regarded as one of the strongest in Europe in terms of quality. According to the report, there is also great satisfaction with the mood within the team. Even supplementary players and reserves are currently said to be causing hardly any unrest

For this reason, Munich are apparently focusing on targeted adjustments in the summer rather than a large-scale transfer offensive

Bayern are looking for reinforcements in two positions

Nevertheless, FC Bayern will not be starting the new season without any new additions. Chief Sports Officer Max Eberl and Sports Director Christoph Freund are already working intensively on selective reinforcements. Those responsible see a concrete need for action in two positions in particular

Firstly, Bayern are still looking for a backup for Luis Díaz at left-back and secondly, a new right-back is on Munich’s wish list

These two areas in particular are to be specifically addressed in the summer

Transfers will also be important for Eberl

The coming months could be particularly crucial for Eberl, as the sporting director remains under close internal scrutiny and must sign quality players without breaking the club’s financial guidelines

Bayern want to maintain their financial stability while remaining competitive at the highest European level

This is precisely why the focus is likely to be less on spectacular mega-transfers and more on clever and targeted reinforcements.
