The left-back caught the eye during trial camps and impressed the club's scouts.A graduate of the Kafue Celtic FC academy, Joseph Kalimina stood out at the last U-17 World Cup. As captain of the Chipolopolo youth side, he scored directly from a corner against Brazil.

Joseph Kalimina thus becomes the third Zambian player to sign for Red Bull Salzburg after Patson Daka and Enock Mwepu, both of whom also came from Kafue Celtic FC. The youngster now has a golden opportunity to prove himself at one of Europe's premier talent development hubs.
