The Red Devils are watching that situation closely and feel ex-Man City product Delap could be an 'ideal signing' for their latest 'project'.

Meanwhile, Delap's current club continue their search of a centre-back. With options out injured,Chelsea want to add another defender to their squad before Monday's deadline.

The latest name linked isKim Min-jae, the centre-back who arrived at Bayern Munich dubbed 'The Monster' but has been rather less fearsome than anticipated. Reports in Germany claim Chelsea are keen on the Korean.
