The board of Al-Ahly Cairo, led by captain Mahmoud El Khatib, finalized on Thursday all the administrative and legal procedures required to sign Moroccan international Youssef Belamri from Raja Casablanca.
The Egyptian club has officially announced the arrival of the Moroccan left-back as part of the ongoing winter transfer window.
On its official social media accounts, Al-Ahly welcomed its new signing with the following message:
At 27 years old, Belamri has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract. He will wear the number 21 jersey for the Cairo club.
The player's integration into the squad was delayed due to his participation with the Moroccan national team at the Africa Cup of Nations, where the Atlas Lions finished as runners-up.
As a reminder, Al-Ahly will face Tanzanian side Young Africans this Friday at the Borg El Arab Stadium in the third matchday of the CAF Champions League group stage. Belamri is expected to be included in the squad for this fixture.
