Planning to follow Sunderland in Europe? Here is a concise travel guide for away trips with indicative costs.
According to Sunderland Echo, the Black Cats visit AC Milan, Anderlecht, Lech Poznan and Torreense. Dates are unconfirmed, with Wednesday 16 to Thursday 17 September used as a planning guide. Prices can change, and this list is not exhaustive.
Newcastle offers plenty of direct flights to Milan, typically £40 to £120. A sample return, out Wednesday 16 September and back Saturday 19 September, is about £60.
Anderlecht sits about a 20-minute drive from Brussels. Options include Eurostar from London St Pancras, with tickets on Wednesday 16 September from £65 and returns on Saturday 19 September from £75. Direct flights from Newcastle to Brussels on the Wednesday, returning Friday, are about £113.
There is no direct Newcastle flight to Poznan. You can fly direct from Edinburgh, with returns from £87 for Wednesday 16 to Saturday 19 September. Alternatively, route via Stansted, then fly to Poznan for roughly £32 return.
Torreense are based in Torres Vedras, around 31 miles north of Lisbon. Their 2,500-seater ground does not meet UEFA rules, so matches will be at a larger venue in Portugal, location to be confirmed. There are no direct Newcastle flights to Lisbon, but direct options include Manchester from about £209 and Edinburgh from about £130 for Wednesday 16 to Saturday 19 September.
