Trevoh Chalobah has revealed what Enzo Maresca told his players at half time during their game against Arsenal last night.
Moises Caicedo has been Chelsea’s best and most consistent player in the last two seasons, but last night he had a bit of a head rush and made a very rash challenge to get himself a straight red card. Caicedo mis-timed his tackle and went in with studs showing and quite high, it was a very silly tackle.
If it wasn’t for this, many believe that Chelsea would have actually gone on to win this game and to be honest, I still think we were the better team even when we went down to ten men.
Arsenal were huffing and puffing of course and took most of the possession as is natural when you are playing with an extra player, but both teams ended up with the same amount of shots on target, which was 5. It could have gone either way in the end and Chelsea also had some very good chances.
So, what did Enzo Maresca tell his players at half time as they had to deal with the sending off from ten minutes prior to that?

Trevoh Chalobah has been speaking to the media, as cited by SPTC, and said:
“[Enzo Maresca] just said it’s about togetherness. When we’re a man down we’ve got to be together and show that on the pitch. That is the time we need to stick together.
“The boys did really well, an unbelievable performance a man down – the hard work, the running for each other, the communication, and every single ball we were first to it. That’s what it takes in moments like that and we’ve learned from our mistakes. The boys really dug in deep.”
On his goal, Chalobah said:
“It was something that we work on every single day. It’s all about the execution and timing, and we got that. It was a good delivery from Reece (James), we know how technically good he is, and it worked for us on Sunday.
“He was unbelievable all game. That’s why he’s our captain. Every single day he works and he leads by example. That was a captain’s performance and that’s what we’re going to need from everyone going forward.”
