There’s a “big battle” between Chelsea, Liverpool and Bayern Munich for Rennes centre back Jeremy Jacquet according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Blues were expected to be quiet this month, but their plans have changed and they are believed to be looking to bring in a centre back and possibly a midfielder before the end of the window.

Chelsea have identified Jacquet as their primary target, but as of now they are yet to make an offer for the 20-year-old.

Fabrizio Romano provides latest update on Jeremy Jacquet

Chelsea have recalled Aaron Anselmino from his loan spell at Borussia Dortmund, but are still thought to be pushing for Jacquet.

The most likely situation is agreeing a deal now for Jacquet to arrive in the summer, but there’s also interest from other clubs, and Romano has provided an update.

Jacquet is attracting interest from a number of Europe’s top clubs.

“Trust me guys, big battle ongoing between Chelsea, Liverpool and Bayern to sign Jacquet,” he told his YouTube channel.

“Chelsea and Liverpool would love to sign him now, but Rennes want to sell for the summer only.

“All three clubs in conversation with Rennes and the players’ representatives.”

Jacquet is under contract at Rennes until 2029, and the French side are thought to be looking for around £60m to let one of their biggest talents leave the club.

Chelsea hoping to find a solution for Axel Disasi

Whilst the Blues are weighing up a deal for Jacquet, they are looking to find another club for Axel Disasi, who’s not played for Chelsea for over a year.

Disasi has appeared for the development side in order to work on his match fitness, and a number of clubs are interested.

It’s been reported Roma and Lyon have made approaches, whilst Crystal Palace and West Ham are also said be interested.

However, no offers have come in yet, and it’s likely his future could go all the way to deadline day if he does end up leaving.
