Tunisia is still unsure whether it will be able to count on its star striker Anisse Saidi at the upcoming U17 World Cup.
Drawn in Group D, the Carthage Eaglets will face Argentina, Belgium, and Fiji in the group stage.
Injured while playing for his American club, San Diego FC, the 17-year-old is now a major doubt for the big tournament in Qatar.
Tunisia's head coach, Mohamed Amine Naffati, is expected to announce the final squad for the tournament in the coming hours.
Who is Anisse Saidi?
Born in the United States to a Tunisian father and an American mother, the young forward trained at the Philadelphia academy before joining San Diego FC at the start of 2025.
He made just one appearance with the first team, specifically in the match against Austin on Matchday 3 of Major League Soccer (MLS).
