Turkiye XI vs Italy – Predicted lineup and team news | OneFootball

Turkiye will aim to end their losing streak as they face Italy on Monday in their next UEFA Nations League encounter at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.

Türkiye’s recent performances have been poor, placing significant strain on head coach Vincenzo Montella. The Crescent-Stars are currently on a run of three consecutive defeats to begin their first-ever League A campaign, leaving them at the foot of Group A1 with zero points. After a tight 1-0 loss to France and a heavy 4-1 defeat at the hands of Italy, their problems intensified with a thorough 3-0 loss to Belgium in the previous week.

Turkiye team news

The Turkish side will be without its main creative forces, as star midfielder Hakan Çalhanoğlu and Juventus attacker Kenan Yıldız are both out injured.

This tactical blow is made worse by key suspensions, with Arda Güler and Barış Alper Yılmaz both ruled out after accumulating yellow cards.

With Çalhanoğlu unavailable, ex-Juventus defender Merih Demiral will once again wear the captain’s armband and lead the team from defence.

Montella will need to completely reorganise his attacking unit and midfield setup to make up for these significant missing players against a solid Italian backline. These widespread changes to the squad mean that a largely experimental Turkish team will step onto the pitch tonight in Bologna.

Turkiye predicted lineup

Possible Turkiye starting XI: Cakir; Kabak, Demiral, Celik; Kadioglu, Ozcan, Yuksek, Elmali; Akgun, Akturkoglu; Gul

When will the match kick off?

The match will kick off at 7:45pm BST on Monday, 5th October.
