Two members of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona completed a remarkable 98% of their passes in the club’s latest outing.

The pair in question? Ronald Araújo and Pau Cubarsí.

Barcelona of course marked their return to action a short time ago.

In the final outing of what has been a hugely successful campaign all told, the Blaugrana made the trip to the Basque Country, for a meeting with Athletic Club.

When all was said and done, Hansi Flick’s troops closed out 2024/25 in style, thanking a Robert Lewandowski brace for an eventual 2-0 triumph.

And yet, as alluded to above, it is the exploits of two Barca players at the other end of the pitch which have since piqued attentions online.

This comes amid confirmation on the part of statisticians Sofascore that the Blaugrana’s two central defenders at San Mamés, the aforementioned Araújo and Cubarsí, completed 98% of their pass attempts on Sunday.

In the case of the former, Araújo found the intended target with 80 of his 82 passes, whilst Cubarsí completed 45 of his 46 attempts.
