Two Flamengo players are on Brazil’s provisional list for upcoming friendlies, with Paquetá left out.

According to Globo.com, forwards Pedro and Samuel Lino are on Carlo Ancelotti’s pre-list and could be called for matches against Australia and India.

Notable omissions are Léo Pereira and Lucas Paquetá, who were at the last World Cup. Ancelotti is currently prioritising less familiar names and younger players.

The squad will be announced next Wednesday by the Italian coach at CBF headquarters in Rio de Janeiro. The matches will be played in the opponents’ countries.

This list opens Brazil’s new cycle, in the first FIFA window after the 2026 World Cup, with focus on the 2028 Copa América and the 2030 World Cup.

Brazil face Australia twice, on 25 September at Queensland Country Bank Stadium in Townsville, then on 29 at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.

The delegation then heads to India, where Brazil play on three October at Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata. It will be the first senior meeting between the nations.
