Two key absences as Valencia open England camp | OneFootball

Valencia are in England for their second and final pre-season camp. Tribuna Deportiva reports that the opening session featured two notable absences, Pepelu and Dimitrievski.

Valencia face Derby County from 16:00, with the friendly closed to the media, in what will be their fourth run-out under Carlos Corberán. The squad travelled on Monday and will stay until Saturday.

Pepelu missed Monday's workout before flying due to back discomfort picked up against Castellón.

The Macedonian goalkeeper is in the final stages of readaptation and could make his first pre-season appearance on Saturday against Stoke City. To date Vicent Abril has played every minute in goal, though minutes could also be shared with Cristian Rivero, whom the club told to find a team so it could use his registration.

Both players are with the travelling party at St George's Park. The major absentee from the camp is Sadiq, sidelined with a muscle injury sustained against Castellón.

Foulquier did not travel either, remaining injured and working at Paterna, where Rubén Iranzo is also continuing his recovery.
