The Three Lions are set to face the Republic of Ireland and Finland.

Maguire’s 2024 European Champions dreams were dashed by injury, but Mainoo stole the spotlight with a dazzling display of skill, earning rave reviews.

Gareth Southgate left his role as manager after losing another Euro final.

While Maguire and Mainoo have been selected by Carsley, the heartbreak continues for Marcus Rashford.

The 26-year-old has been left out of the national squad due to his poor form.

After a lacklustre 2023/24 season where he netted just seven goals in 33 Premier League appearances, Rashford’s struggles are far from over.

Despite Erik ten Hag’s confidence in him, starting him in the opening two league fixtures, the forward has yet to score.

His starting spot is under intense scrutiny for the Liverpool clash. Amad Diallo started as the right-winger in the recent league clash and scored the equaliser.

He could keep his spot with Alejandro Garnacho replacing Rashford on the left flank.

Garnacho has been effective in both games and has offered more attacking threat than Rashford.

Luke Shaw is another United player who was excluded from the England squad.

The left-back is currently sidelined due to an injury. He is expected to return after the international break.
