Two on-loan Barcelona stars will be allowed to play against the club this season | OneFootball

Two members of the loan army at La Liga giants Barcelona will be permitted to line out against the club in official fixtures this season.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have provided an insight into the situation.

The subject of the status of Barcelona’s loanees has taken its place front and centre in the chatter in Catalunya over the course of recent days.

This comes after it was confirmed that Oriol Romeu will not be able to play against the Blaugrana this weekend.

The midfielder’s summer loan move to Girona included a ‘fear clause’, ruling him out of contention to feature at Montilivi on Sunday evening.

The same will not prove the case for two other Barca-owned players, later in the season, though.

As per a report from Sport, both Vitor Roque (Real Betis) and Clément Lenglet (Atlético Madrid) will be raring to go in fixtures against Hansi Flick’s side in 2024/25.

It of course remains to be seen whether either is actually made use of by their respective clubs, but it is certainly a situation to keep an eye on over the months ahead.
