Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United have registered an interest in signing Christopher Nkunku from Chelsea.
Nkunku is set to leave Chelsea after two disappointing campaigns in West London. The France international endured an injury-hit debut season at Stamford Bridge, before struggling for a regular role under Enzo Maresca in 2024/25.
He is now exploring his options after Chelsea added to their attacking options with the signings of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro.
Bayern Munich and several Italian sides have expressed interest in Nkunku, though the Daily Telegraph are reporting that the forward will have opportunities to remain in the Premier League.
Nottingham Forest are considering Nkunku as an option. Nuno Espirito Santo has lost Anthony Elanga from his frontline this summer, while Spurs are pushing to sign Morgan Gibbs-White. Nkunku’s ability to perform in multiple roles adds to his appeal.
Newcastle also want to bring in a versatile forward. The Magpies expressed interest in signing Joao Pedro from Brighton, prior to his move to Chelsea.
Nkunku has emerged as an alternative as Eddie Howe looks for a player to complement and compete with Alexander Isak. Manchester United previously expressed interest in Nkunku in January.
Chelsea are understood to have dropped their asking price for the 27-year-old to around £43m.
