Two members of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid will play no part at the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.

That’s according to Blancos insider Jorge C Picon, who points towards Dani Carvajal and Éder Militão as the pair in question.

Both right-back Carvajal and central defender Militão are of course sidelined long-term at present.

This comes owing to respective ACL injuries suffered early in the 2024/25 campaign.

Both players have been spotted back on the grass over recent weeks, giving rise to suggestions that they could go on to feature in some capacity at the upcoming Club World Cup.

As alluded to above, however, if the latest word stemming from the media on Saturday is anything to go by, this will not be the case.

As per a report from journalist Jorge C Picon:

‘The plan is for Militão and Carvajal to travel to the Club World Cup, but Real Madrid does not want them to play any minutes. The goal is to get them into the swing of things and train with their teammates without taking unnecessary risks so they can be 100% fit for next season.’
