South African goalkeeper Lwandiso Radebe has made the shortlist of top shot-stoppers at the 20th edition of the U17 World Cup.
The KwaZulu-Natal native was a key architect in the Amajimbos’ 3-1 victory over Bolivia.
With 7 saves to his name, he ranks seventh among goalkeepers with the most saves on the opening matchday of the premier youth tournament.
He trails behind Oliver Alegria Sigernes (El Salvador – 10 saves), Melvin Prakash (Fiji – 10 saves), Tobias Borgnis (New Zealand – 9 saves), Nicolas Kutran (New Caledonia – 9 saves), Clifford Gene (Haiti – 9 saves), and Abdulrahman Al-Otaibi (Saudi Arabia – 8 saves).
Signed earlier this year by Sundowns from SuperSport, he is already establishing himself as the worthy successor to Ronwen Williams, both with the "Brazilians" and the "Bafana Bafana."
