The 3 leading contenders for U20 World Cup MVP

Several players have entered the race for the best player award at the U20 World Cup.

FIFA's Technical Committee will announce the lucky winner after the final between Morocco and Argentina, scheduled for Sunday, October 19, 2025.

Three frontrunners have emerged:

Othmane Maamma

The Moroccan right winger has scored one goal and provided three assists in six tournament matches. Trained at Montpellier, he joined Watford in the last transfer window.

Lucas Michal

France's left winger has netted five goals in six appearances. After stints at US Ivry (2013-2015), Paris FC (2015-2018), and US Torcy (2018-2020), he joined AS Monaco's academy in 2020.

Alejo Sarco

The Argentine striker has scored four goals in six matches. Trained at Vélez Sarsfield, he joined Bayer 04 Leverkusen in 2025 as a free agent.
