Morocco has secured its ticket to the round of 16 of the U20 World Cup, with the final stage ongoing in Chile.

The "Lion Cubs" have taken the tournament by storm, defeating Spain (2-0) and Brazil (2-1) in impressive fashion.

With six points to their name, the reigning African champions pulled off a major feat by claiming the first qualifying spot for the U20 World Cup round of 16.

In the next round, the Moroccan team will take on the best third-placed side from Group A, B, or F. They could potentially face another African contender such as Egypt (Group A) or Nigeria (Group F).

In their final group stage match, Morocco will face Mexico on Saturday, October 4.

As a reminder, the North African side achieved their best-ever performance at the U20 World Cup in 2005, finishing fourth behind Brazil.
