UCL: Victor Osimhen breaks a historic record at Galatasaray
Victor Osimhen is proving unstoppable in Galatasaray colors. The Nigerian striker struck twice on Wednesday as his side claimed a 3-1 Champions League victory over Bodo/Glimt.
With these two new goals, the Super Eagles international becomes the first player in the Turkish club’s history to score in seven consecutive European matches, erasing the previous record held by Burak Yilmaz from the books.
Osimhen opened the scoring in the 3rd minute, capitalizing on a defensive blunder, before doubling his tally half an hour into the match. Yunus Akgün netted Galatasaray’s third in the 60th minute, while Andreas Helmersen clawed one back for the Norwegians in the 74th.
With this performance, Osimhen cements his status as Turkey’s man of the moment. He now has five goals across all competitions this season.
