Udinese coach Andrea Sottil is pleased making progress in the Coppa Italia.
Sottil expressed his satisfaction after Udinese overcame Feralpisalo to reach the next round of the Coppa Italia but insisted his side have plenty of room for improvement.
“We'll take the result today but we know we have to improve do better," the coach commented following his team's 2-1 victory at Dacia Arena.
“We started off well and deserved our lead. In the first and middle part of the second half we were in complete control. We stayed compact, put some nice moves together and made it 2-0. After they scored we lost our way a bit and then fatigue started setting in, but overall we played quite well."
The former defender went on to analyse the performance of his rearguard.
“Of our starting backline today, only Perez was a regular last season. Players like [Jaka] Bijol, [Adam] Masina and [Enzo] Ebosse need to bed into the team but the more you play the better the understanding becomes.
“We shouldn't be conceding five shots on target with the quality of the players we have. [Marco] Silvestri was alert and reactive as always. The good thing is all the players want to improve and it's my job to help them do that."
