After finally lifting the transfer ban that blighted their year, Lazio will be looking to end a tumultuous 2025 on a high note when they play Udinese away from home.
The Serie A clash between Udinese and Lazio kicks off at 18:00 local time on Saturday, December 27, at the Bluenergy Stadium in Udine.

The Zebrette have been blowing hot and cold in recent weeks. In their most recent outing, they suffered a 1-5 hammering in Florence after being reduced to ten men in the first minutes of the contest, allowing Fiorentina to register their first Serie A win of the season. Nevertheless, they had dominated and beaten Napoli at home the previous weekend.
Since November, Udinese had also secured wins over Atalanta and Parma, but they were also defeated by Roma, Bologna and Genoa in the league, as well as Juventus in the Coppa Italia. Kosta Runjaic’s men currently sit in familiar 12th spot in the Serie A table.
The Aquile were hoping to build on the surreal win in Parma by beating Cremonese in their last appearance at the Stadio Olimpico in 2025, but they settled for an uninspiring stalemate against Cremonese.
In their most recent outings, Lazio shared the spoils with Bologna, but they avenged a controversial league defeat at San Siro by eliminating AC Milan from the Coppa Italia Round of 16 at the Olimpico. The team’s inconsistent run put them 8th in the Serie A standings, so Maurizio Sarri’s men need a victory in Udine, as they don’t want to lose sight of the European zone.
Udinese (3-5-2): Sava; Kristensen, Kabasele, Solet; Zanoli, Piotrowski, Karlstrom, Ekkelenkamp, Bertola; Zaniolo, Davis.
Lazio (4-4-2): Provedel; Marusic, Gila, Romagnoli, Pellegrini; Cancellieri, Cataldi, Vecino, Zaccagni; Noslin, Castellanos.
Lazio will travel north with a depleted squad, forcing Sarri to change his tactical system. However, this could be a blessing in disguise for Taty Castellanos, who tends to perform better when paired with another striker. Moreover, the returning Mattia Zaccagni will be hellbent on causing havoc in the final third.
If Alessio Romagnoli manages to keep the revitalized Nicolo Zaniolo in check, and Mario Gila stands his ground against the physical Keinan Davis, the visitors should return home with three points in the bag.
