Ugo Raghouber has been ruled out of Levante’s derby with Valencia on Sunday 15 February, the midfielder sidelined by fatigue rather than an injury.
According to Superdeporte, head coach Luís Castro explained that the Frenchman is managing a minor issue after a heavy workload in recent weeks, and he will not be risked after the overexertion at Athletic, where Levante played much of the game with one fewer.
Raghouber had started three matches in a row and looked settled alongside Pablo Martínez in the double pivot. His absence forces a reshuffle, with Olasagasti, Pablo Martínez, Unai Vencedor, Oriol Rey, Kervin Arriaga and even Unai Elgezabal under consideration. Castro reiterated he will not force anyone who is overly fatigued, as seen when Matías Moreno rested after a concussion.
Matías Moreno and Unai Elgezabal have returned. Víctor García and Arriaga trained without completing the full week and are available, with the staff to decide whether they start. The Honduran has passed LaLiga’s concussion protocol and will return at the Ciutat on Sunday, either from the start or the bench.
Raghouber will continue working away from the group and, if all goes to plan, could be back on Wednesday against Villarreal at the Ciutat. Roger Brugué, Raghouber, Alan Matturro and Jeremy Tolajan are out for the derby, the first injured, the second due to fatigue, and the latter pair suspended.
