Uli Hoeneß has named his preferred Germany XI for the 2026 World Cup from Julian Nagelsmann’s selected squad, opting for a 4-2-3-1 with Manuel Neuer in goal.

According to BuLi News, he goes with a back four of David Raum, Jonathan Tah, Nico Schlotterbeck and Nathaniel Brown. He accepts deploying Raum at right back is not ideal but wants Joshua Kimmich in midfield, and he rates Brown highly.

Kimmich partners Aleksandar Pavlović as the double pivot, which he views as the best option in the holding roles.

In the band of three he chooses Jamie Leweling, Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala. He believes Wirtz and Musiala must play, remains a fan of Leroy Sané but feels the winger is short of confidence, and considers Lennart Karl not yet ready to start, hence Leweling.

Up front he prefers Nick Woltemade over Kai Havertz, saying he likes Havertz but considers Woltemade more of a striker who suits the shape better.
