Unai Núñez left out for Espanyol, Valencia debut at Mestalla delayed | OneFootball

Carlos Corberán will be without his defensive reinforcement against RCD Espanyol, as Unai Núñez has been left out of Valencia’s squad, delaying his Mestalla debut.

According to Superdeporte, the loan gathered pace on Friday, with the deal close in the morning and later acknowledged by Corberán in his press conference.

By the afternoon, Núñez landed at Manises Airport and rushed through medical tests in an attempt to make the matchday list. Before midnight, Valencia CF confirmed his arrival, and he joined the team at their hotel hoping to feature at Mestalla.

His first appearance in front of the home crowd will now have to wait. The next chance at Mestalla is the Copa del Rey quarter-final against Athletic Club on Wednesday four February.

Before then, he could make his Valencia bow away to Real Betis in the next league fixture.
