FC Bayern could need a new backup for Harry Kane in the summer. A possible candidate is now being assessed – with a clear tendency
FC Bayern are already looking ahead to the coming season – particularly in terms of forward planning. The Munich club lack a clear alternative behind Harry Kane, especially as the permanent signing of loanee Nicolas Jackson is currently considered unlikely
Accordingly, those responsible could look for a new backup in the summer. One player who could become available is Deniz Undav from VfB Stuttgart
However, Sky reporter Florian Plettenberg made it clear that FC Bayern are not currently working on signing the international striker
Instead, the 29-year-old is currently focusing on his future in Stuttgart, where talks are underway regarding a contract extension, but they are not easy
According to Sky, Undav is demanding a salary of around six million euros a year, which would make him VfB’s highest earner and set a new club record
In sporting terms, the attacker is backing up his demands with strong performances. With a high scoring rate, he is one of the most effective attacking players in Europe this season
For FC Bayern, the construction site in attack thus remains. There is no long-term solution behind Kane – and those responsible will continue to look at possible options

One thing is certain: Undav is not one of them and the search for a suitable backup continues
Kane still has a contract with Bayern until 2027, with negotiations over an extension due to take place in the summer. Bayern would like to keep their superstar for even longer. If they succeed, all they need is a suitable backup.
