Under-17s through as group winners at Youth Club World Cup

São Paulo’s U-17 team finished the group stage of the Youth Club World Cup on top of Group 3. This Thursday (4), Tricolor drew 0-0 with Málaga, of Spain, at María Dolores Jiménez Guardeño Stadium, in Cabra (Córdoba).

In the battle for the extra point, Málaga won 3-2 on penalties. Even so, the Made in Cotia side secured first place in the group and advanced to the quarterfinals of the competition on goal difference, after the 6-0 rout of Sporting, of Portugal, in the previous round and the 2-2 draw with Dinamo Zagreb, of Croatia, in the opener.
