CR Belouizad secured a narrow 1-0 victory at the expense of ASO Chlef in the Algerian Ligue 1 on Wednesday evening.
Youssef Laoufi scored the crucial goal for the Chababists in the 7th minute, ensuring his team returns to Algiers with maximum points.
Moreover, it was Belouizdad's first league victory since August, in the opening day, where they edged Paradou AC with a solitary goal.
The string of poor results, coupled with a trip to Spain to watch Real Madrid against French outfit Marseille in the UEFA Champions League last month, put head coach Sead Ramovic under pressure.
Now, with the recent win, the former TS Galaxy mentor will be hoping it sets the tone for the remainder of the campaign.
Belouizad currently sit in position 11, having accumulated 10 points from seven league outings. They return to action with a visit to ES Mostaganem on Sunday.
Meanwhile, ex-Orlando Pirates boss Josef Zinnbauer saw his team JS Kabylie surrender a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with log leaders JS Saoura on the same day.
The Canaries occupy eighth place on the Algerian topflight standings and they swing back to action with a clash against MC El Bayadh on Monday.
