After a successful loan spell last season with Nürnberg, Florian Flick has garnered a significant amount of speculation. As reported by Sky Germany, an unknown English side is attempting to attract the Schalke midfielder.
Sky understand that talks have already begun with the English club with Schalke hopeful of receiving a lucrative fee. After relegation from the Bundesliga last campaign, Die Knappen are looking to sell as many of their prized assets as they can in order to compensate for the decrease in revenue.
Last season Flick would struggle to establish himself in the Bundesliga with Schalke featuring eight times in the league before being loaned out to Nürnberg for the duration of the Rückrunde. While in Frankonia Flick would find his feet in the 2. Bundesliga, appearing 16 times for Der Club helping them stave away relegation fears.
Therefore, Nürnberg are also keen on permanently signing the defensive midfielder having already agreed personal terms with the former German under-21 international. However, with Der Club now facing competition, it will be up to Schalke as to where Flick ends up next season.
