Unseen hero stands tall to earn Telstar a point

Ronald Koeman set the tone in the fourth minute with a low save, anchoring Telstar to a 1-1 draw at NEC Nijmegen.

The goalkeeper dived left to parry a skidding drive from range early on, a statement stop that steadied the visitors as pressure built.

After the restart Koeman was busy again. He got down to turn away Bryan Linssen's angled effort (63.), then pushed out Tjaronn Chery's strike from outside the box (64.).

He was finally beaten by Chery's left-footed finish from the left side of the area (85.), but his earlier interventions had already shaped the tie. He finished with five saves, three from inside the box, plus 27 accurate passes from 45, helping Telstar play through waves of pressure.
