A trio of La Liga clubs are expressing an interest in the signature of a member of the midfield ranks at Atlético Madrid heading into the final weeks of the summer transfer window.

Youngster Vargas for his part only made the move to Madrid back in February, from MLS outfit the Seattle Sounders. The 21-year-old, from here, went on to rack up 12 league appearances, including eight from the off.

And as alluded to above, his performances along the way evidently proved enough to pique the attentions of those in the boardroom at several La Liga clubs.

As per a report from journalist Rodrigo Fáez of ESPN:

‘Real Betis, Valencia, and Getafe are among those interested in Obed Vargas’ loan. Atleti are considering loaning out one of their midfielders due to overbooking.’

It is added that Vargas’ exit is not yet a sure thing, but has also not been ruled out by Diego Simeone and his staff.
