Valencia announce Aliou Dieng on two-year deal with option | OneFootball

Valencia have confirmed the signing of Aliou Dieng on a two-year deal to June 2028, the club said in a statement. The agreement also includes an option for a third season.

The 28-year-old Mali international completed initial medical checks months ago and will undergo routine pre-season tests in the coming hours. He links up with the squad on Wednesday and will be presented at Mestalla at 12:30.

Dieng arrives from Al Ahly of Egypt, where since 2019 he has played 250 competitive matches. His honours there include three league titles, two cups and four super cups in Egypt, plus two CAF Super Cups and four CAF Champions Leagues.

He captains Mali and featured at the most recent Africa Cup of Nations. His profile blends power, range and ball-winning, operating as a continuity midfielder with progression and a reliable first pass.

On arrival he spoke of aiming to help Valencia revive Champions League nights and fight to return to Europe this year, adding that high expectations drive him and that he is excited. He also said he has already spoken with Carlos Corberán.
