Boca loan out Iker Zufiaurre, move opens slot for Valencia | OneFootball

Iker Zufiaurre has left Boca on loan to Uruguay, a move that opens a late-window slot. According to LaNumer12.com.ar, the club have a verbal agreement to add Valencia as cover for the injured Adam Bareiro.

The 2005-born striker joins Albion FC of the Primera División until 30 June 2027 on a free loan with no purchase option. He remains tied to Boca until December 2028 and had lacked minutes under Rodolfo Arruabarrena.

Planned switches to Banfield and Estudiantes de Río Cuarto at the start of the year collapsed, with injuries to Edinson Cavani, Miguel Merentiel and Milton Giménez leaving the attack short.

Zufiaurre excelled in the reserves, playing 68 matches with 15 goals, including two in clásicos, and three assists. He peaked in 2025, completing a double and scoring the title-clincher in the Trofeo de Campeones final.

His exit gives Boca a regulatory window to register new signings until 2 September, and the focus is firmly on proven experience up front.

Valencia, 36, is a free agent after Pachuca and would become the fourth addition of this window. He is expected in Argentina this weekend for a medical and an 18-month deal, a move requested by Arruabarrena.
